For iOS, IL2CPP makes a huge difference. I’m about to release my game soon and I need to know how reliable this technology on other platforms (especially Android). It would be very convenient if Unity shared some update regarding the progress and future of IL2CPP.

In general, you can find information about what we’re working on in the public roadmap (including new IL2CPP platforms).
In 5.2, IL2CPP is beta for Android, and I believe it will still be beta for 5.3. However, it is in pretty good shape, as most of the code for IL2CPP is the same across all platforms. I’m aware of one outstanding bug for IL2CPP that is specific to Android now (related to native plugin loading). I would encourage you to try it if you project works with 5.2.
