Hey everyone, I am currently designing some UI for Xbox game but i’m not sure what Resolution/pixel I should be making it on, I think it is 1920 x 1080 but i’m not sure, Have not been able to find much on Google, Any help would be great thank you
It would be dependent upon the television being used, surely? In which case, why don’t you create all the GUI elements using screen.Width and screen.Height so they’re always in the right place no matter what the resolution is. I’ve never really done any UI work with Unity though so this might be wrong ^^
99% of console games run at ±1280 x 720. A lot go lower, but it depends on processing power available. The Xbox’s ability to go higher is most of the time the built in upscaler blowing the image out of the regular size. Arcade titles can run high if they are performance wise light enough, but 720p is a good number, likelihood is you won’t go over it.
