See the attached image. I’ve circled it in red. What is it?
I know that this is a dumb question but it’s bugging me that I can’t figure out what it is.

In Firefox v31 it is rendering as a blue arrow.
I think it’s an image or icon being displayed incorrectly. Earlier today I was seeing a bunch of instances of the top left corner of the Unity logo.
Interesting. My screenshot was from FF v31 on Windows. Maybe you’re on a Mac? I tried clearing the cache and it’s still showing as that weird tilde thing.
I just checked with IE and Chrome and it’s showing up with an arrow on both of those browsers.
I think you’re right @angrypenguin ; it must be an image being displayed incorrectly.
OT: I hate all the cross platform issues that come up with web development.
A few years ago I switched my consulting business from HTML/ASP.Net to Silverlight/ASP.Net and (as a software developer) I’ve never been happier.
Everything just works with Silverlight. It’s too bad Microsoft is too short sighted to see what an awesome platform they developed. They treat Silverlight like a red headed stepchild.
On Windows. I also clear my cache prior to closing my browser.
Funny. I just cleared my cache again and now it’s showing the arrow.
Anyway, thanks @Ryiah and @angrypenguin for helping me solve the mystery.
Every time I visit the site on a different machine, the first visit always gives me these badly showing images (and the main logo image). Subsequent visits, the images seem to show ok.
Me too. They don’t seem to have implemented cache prevention for some things.
