I am interested to see who the 90 year olds will be.
Obviously people who are sick of all these age threads are going to select random numbers, not to mention trolls. Just stop making these threads.

It doesn’t. But then again, nobody said it did. This the gossip section and OP might simply be curious about the Unity Game Developers’s demographic. I’m curious as well, so I don’t see any issues with inquiring about age

And this is a gossip section dedicated to Unity. I don’t see how the age is related to Unity, or what this actually matters. Nobody cares whether someone is 16, or 90. What matters is the stuff you do with Unity.
Besides that, he already opened two other threads with the same question.
A poll on a forum will provide NO useful or accurate information about the demographic of Unity developers. It may give you some information about active members on the Unity forum who are willing to participate in polls, but that is all.
By that logic, would you advocate that all remotely personal questions not be posted here? Even if they’re about the very people who create games with unity? This is a gossip section, and gossip is definitionally conjointly personal. Also, a simple forum search yielded an inquiry from 2006 and nothing else. Even if there were more results, they’d probably be outdated. While I’m fully aware that this is far from an accurate representation as far as age and unity users goes, and that it’s insignificant, It’s still fun to participate and get to know more about your fellow unity users. Most polls have no objective benefit, it’s just a fun little exercise.
Although I do agree that opening more than one thread is excessive.
If you scroll through the topics here, you will see that most things are related to Unity or gaming in general. “Gossip” means simply, this forum is for topics that does not fit into any other forums. That does not mean it has to be totally off-topic.
And yes, it doesn’t give you a accurate demographic at all. It actually distorts the reality, because mostly younger forum members participate in such polls 
That said, it’s nothing wrong with that thread. It doesn’t harm anyone. But it makes not much sense either. At least to me.
