As for comparing apples and oranges FarCry1, FarCry2 and FC3 , FarCry2 seemed to tell a much better raw believable story with the protagonist characters involved, Vass was great but so was the Jackal. I have difficulty finding any hard love with Farcry 3 maybe they are way too similar. I really loved the playground of Africa in FarCry2, but FarCry3 held many surprises in hidden level design, I will keep silent as not spoil it for anyone.
I have maybe six games on the top 10 list but they depend on my mood for replay value.

Metal Gear Solid, and it everything related to it. I have the entire collection including substance and subsistance. I don’t have non-canon versions though. I loved the story and gameplay, and how both were well intgergrated. Plus, the freedom it allows the player. Most stealth games require you to play stealth wise, or die/lower game score.
MGS had that, but I either survived most engagement or didn’t care about the score since it wasn’t always in my face(Hitman: Absolution)
I also liked Hitman, Splinter Cell, Theif, and Mirror’s Edge.
My favourite games are:
FarCry 3: Because I love the atmosphere of the terrain combined with the story. In addition I love tropical islands and I think Rook Island from FarCry 3 is the best.
Terraria: Because I love to play innovative games and Terraria is one! It’s replayable and you have lots of fun alone or with your friends in multiplayer.
Super Mario World / 2: This was one of my first games ever and It’s a important part of my childhood and maybe the reason why I love games and want to develop innovative games in my future.
Jak Dexter Series: The Jak Trilogy were the 3 first games for my old PlayStation 2. These games are part of my childhood too and I think these are the best games ever. (You can see on my Nickname, I’m a Jak fan

Favorite game of all time would have to be Empire Earth 1.
I’m at ends to think of one with best story, however surprisingly to most people anther game I greatly enjoyed was the Bethesda Pirates of the Caribbean game, it felt half finished however it felt like a really great game was hiding there just under the surface but the title itself ruined the game as most of the game had nothing to do with that franchise and that is what made it so good along with the suburb idea for naval combat.
Don’t have a current favorite. Throughout the past though, they’ve been (in no particular order, and excluding Atari days)

Fave game of all time would have to be Fallout 3 - mainly for the story and the humour. It’s blindingly original, and classic 21st century art.
Runners up are Borderlands 2 (hilarious), Mass Effect 2 (story and characters) and Battlefield 3 (adrenalin raiser). Agree with khanstruct re Mag - a great game, massively underrated.
Scariest game ever was Silent Hill 2…until I played Dead Space. Can’t wait to play that with an Oculus Rift. 
Metroid Prime : First game played and favorite franchise/series of all time.
Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core : Story and Main Character SPOILER who dies. Also my first FF game.
Persona 3 FES : Characters, Story, Overall Favorite, Gameplay, Never a dull moment IMO SPOILER MC (Main Character) dies. But it’s okay for now…
Resident Evil 4 : Good ol’ jump scare and kill fun.
and Persona 4 Arena, a kick ass, persona, all out brawl against friends and 2D fighter with a lot pf content and challenge.
