I like games that involve managing money, like simcity

actually I like when games mix it up, instead of sticking to a game genre

I like open ended fantasy role playing games, Oblivion, Morrowind, and the like. I do not like Final Fantasy type RPG’s (turn based) so much…

Anyway, RPG’s are a lot of work.

I like first person games but not just FPS. First person adventure games are great and I wish that genera would have taken off more since the dawn of Metroid Prime. I personally am working on an FPA(first person action/adventure) because I enjoy these games the most and it seems the big name companies haven’t started to fill that market with games.

i used to be a RPG fan, and still am to an extent, but they are so much more work to play to get anywhere 8( so now i only really play FPS (mainly COD) because i can just pick it up and play, no need to level and junk lol

I did not expect fps to be more popular than fantasy role playing.

RTS here as well. FPS’ are easier to get into than RPGs and offer a more competitive experience. Nothing surprising there. It’s the same for an action RTS (starcraft) vs. a more in-depth one (men of war). Unsurprisingly Starcraft is more popular because of the lower “entry standards”.

FPS leading the results once again… Whatever site/forum I’m lurking in, I seriously don’t understand why there is so much more enthusiasm for FPS genre than any other unique categories (in this poll, “other” not being unique). I respect the likes, but I don’t understand the polls results. What’s so great about point-and-clicking a projectile launcher, compared to so many other control / gamedesign marriages ?

(edit : make myself clear, I loved some FPSes, though)

@Legion mmo’s of any sort are too hard and appaerntly expensive so I don’t think I will do that. Dont get me wrong though I love MMORPG’s

What are you guys talking about, RPG’s seem to be leading to me. well “other” is actually winning.

I grew up with JRPGs, but I’m open to any rpg as long as story is good, or gameplay mechanics are just fun.

FPS is one of my favorite as well, but that’s only because I look at it as quick gameplay. Don’t need to spend a lot of time playing it, just hop online shoot some people and continue with my day. RPG would be my overall favorite because you are playing through a fantasy world that you get lost in… if the story is good enough.

@DigitalShock ‘other’ may be winning but ‘other’ can include alot of things and since most of the people who have voted for ‘other’ have not defined what type of game they like I think it is fair to say RPG is winning right now.
