What name do you call your 3d files folder inside unity assets?

3d? Meshes? Objects?

Just to know if I’m following a nice/correct nomenclature for my folder and files…

Hi another brazilian…(me too)
Most of the people do for example:

Folder ->Models
->ModelName->Files of your model
->_Scripts
->ScriptCategory (player, enemy, gui, effect) → Files
But it’s just matter of organization, do as you feel organized and confortable.

‘Meshes’ generally, then split it into relevant categories like ‘level geo’ ‘player’ and so on. Im not sure theres a standard, its whatever you find most readable. I’m still struggling to find a file naming convention, thats my main problem.

Thank you guys! I think I’m going with models, angry bots use “objects” but I think models or meshes suits better!

Opa, e aí Fano! Tem bastante brasileiro por aqui! ^^

As long as you’re able to easily find what you’re after and don’t end up with redundant stuff, you can store stuff however you want. It’s a good idea to come up with some standard and stick to it, but it doesn’t matter too much what the standard is as long as it works for you.

Remember that it is only you who needs the organization. None of the consumers will see it. Do it however is easiest for YOU to understand, not everybody else. I think the Objects>Characters>Mesh system works the best personally.

Thanks again! It’s good to gather other people opinion just in case if I’m going to start a project in team.
