I hate seeing posts that look like this.

That kind of pisses my off because i AM a 14 year old, and so were you at one time. I’m making a game called FartMan and i’m NOT going around saying “Can i haz code PLZZZZZZZ?” . Also there was a post started asking for a 20+ forum. Why? just because some majority of the newer people are young, doesn’t mean you should block others there age out. So, any idea why people generalize anyone under 20 as a waste of time?
I’m 15 and I can guarantee you that I am a better modeler than half of the people here, if not more. People need to stop dumbing down stuff and realize that, yes, a 15 year old is smarter than you.

This thread is going to turn into a good case against free Unity.
Unfortunately it’s comments like that which give teenagers a bad name, so that probably answers your question TheCowMan. I agree with others, this thread is likely to go downhill fast. And will probably end up being about people wanting shadows in Unity free, like how every other thread ends up on here. 
There have been many <18 aged programmers and artists on this forum over the years, and a few of them did incredible work that helped make unity what it is today. Long time forum members will know exactly which users I am referring to.
But the VAST majority of ~15 year olds are cocky code beggars who have no interest in the advice of the experienced designers on the forum. Take a look at the collaboration section, the 15 year olds are easily recognizable.
We all were 15 at one time, and a lot of us got into game design around that age including myself. And at the time I thought my work was beyond brilliant. Looking back years later I see how bad it really was.
Yeah, I’ll be watching this thread to lock it as it definitely has that potential.

Exactly the same story for how I started. It was one hell of a painful fall when I got my ass handed to me at Foundation Imaging. Learned tons after that though, once I learned to listen.

I’m pretty sure at 15, I was the world’s greatest artist.
I think around 16, I met someone better.
I’ve met at least one better artist every year, until a few years ago when that changed to ‘per month’.

Hey, if you’re going to have your ass handed to you, the Foundation Imaging guys were the ones to do it. I’m still impressed with their work.

I am 16, who cares. Stop whining, the reason most people complain about it is because most people in there teens ARE kids that just say “Can i haz code PLZZZZZZZ?”! It may be annoying, but if they make a 20+ forum, I am sure it wouldn’t stop us from coming in anyways!

Do you know all the members of this forum? Do you know the IQ of every member of this forum? I’ll go out on a limb here and guess the answer to both questions is no. When you get out into the world away from mommy and daddy you realize that you don’t know as much as you thought you did. When you get into a real career you once again realize you don’t know as much as you thought you did. When you finally get married and have a family of your own you realize yet again that you don’t know as much as you thought you did.
Yes, we were all young once. That’s why, yes, we know that you aren’t half as smart as you think you are. If you were you wouldn’t have spouted off like a 15 year old kid.
