I’m making a Let’s Play / Game Development Tutorial YouTube channel and I need some help. I want to teach how to make certain game mechanics from certain games (ex. “The parkour mechanic from Mirrors Edge” or “Style characters like Minecraft”). Any ideas for my first video?
My channel got its biggest boost from jumping on the beta and releasing tutorials about the newest engine features. You can climb pretty quickly to the top of the search ranks if yours is the only tutorial on the topic.
Aside from that you need to find a unique voice that makes your channel special and interesting. You also need to make your videos high quality.
As to asking what to make, if you have to ask for ideas for your first video you probably aren’t driven enough by tutorials and teaching. What tutorials do you think are missing from the community work? What would you have liked to see as a beginner? What can you do now that nobody else can?
