This bug completely screwed up my project beyond repair. I am extremely disappointed
I would try 2 things:
- Reimport everything.
- If that does not help - open a new project by copying all the project files and folder to a new folder and starting from there.
Hope this might help.
What bug, your post doesn’t mention anything.
Anything that screws up your project is bad, but as this thread currently stands no one can help or learn from it.
Regards,
Matt.
Load from a backup? You did make backups right? Confucius say, “Save early, save often.” The same applies no matter if it’s Unity, Modo or Photoshop.
If you failed to do so, then whatever bug you didn’t describe in your post isn’t what you should be disappointed in.
This must be the worst bug report that I have ever seen.
The only information is the F** word. How do you think that anyone could help you with that info?
I suppose that the Hell info would not give the users any more info either
Well if this bug has thought us all anything its backup your project. Several times.
This only way I could think this happened is when I opened a asset store link in google chrome. After that everything justbwent downhill. I tried what u guys suggested(reimported all assets, which didn’t work or copy all assets to s different project. ) both didn’t work. Upon copying all assets ti the new project, all my scripts that were attached to prefabs or game objects were showing up as missin, it would take forever to attach the correct ones. My solution was to export everything as a package and import everything from that.
I did something like what you did. Downloaded some assets from Asset Store inside Unity and then my project also started to go downhill. Various small things stopped working, other behaved strange. Did send a bug-report containing the project, but that one failed also.
My solution was to uninstall Unity, install a fresh copy and remake my project. This was not a big catastrophe as I alway have a copy of all my own files on another place.
I can give no help, but at least I can confirm that strange things may happen when using Asset Store.
Now that is a bit of a worry!
Yes. Indeed. But I did exactly what one should NOT do. I browsed and installed a bunch of various things at same session. That is like begging for problems, so I guess I have my self to blame. I should know better. Only one thing at the time is the golden rule I think.
We still don’t know what the problem is. Can you explain?
