What would it cost me for a multiplay Server wich can handle 10 games and 2000 players connecting to play versus matches?

I am koku and I am creating a platform for players to challenge each other over 10 different games in multiplayer. I intend to use multiplay

I don’t know anything about coding or servers. But I would like to have a rough idea of the type of server resources you would need and how much it would cost me per month.

Here are some specifications:

  • The games will be made with Unity. they will be 2D board games (ludo, card, checkers or mobile-type games etc)
  • Up to 1000 Players can challenge each other in versus matches. Not more than 4 players play a game at once.
  • The server must support a large number of players, let’s say 1000, who play one of 10 or more games. So not all 1000 are in one game at a time.
  • Over time there would be more games and more players. Scalable

There’s your problem right there. Unless you are a Unity Enterprise customer, you have no say in what the Multiplay server machine specs are.

What non-Enterprise customers (as of this writing) get is this machine:

Google Cloud Compute General Purpose
GCP-N2 @ 2.8 GHz
8 GB RAM
CPU: Intel Cascade Lake (Xeon)

It overall depends on certain factors, but I am supposing a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars.
