I’m currently programming a snake game in UNITY by using an orthographic camera. The main purpose of this game is to develop my skills further in Unity. I’m using C# and currently I’ve almost completed the programming stage of this game. It has singleplayer and multiplayer (on a single device) modes, growing snake, snake’s food and obstacles… things that most of the regular snake games have. There is also Android support with 3 different control options. There are no textures yet, I’m using UNITY’s cubes and spheres at the moment
Thank you imaginaryhuman and METALWINGS for your replies about some ideas for the game. Sadly, I decided not to implement them. But I may use the powerup idea.
Nowadays, I am mostly in need of textures though. There are not so many textures needed. Snake’s head, body, last piece of tail, obstacles, food and ground. If you would like to help me with them, please don’t hesitate to contact me via e-mail.
Game is free and will also be published on Google Play Store after finding some good textures. If you want to see the game’s current status, visit this Unity WebPlayer page: yasirkula.freeiz.com/Projects/SneakySnake.html
Actually talking of snakes what if there are enemy snakes which do move, they aren’t harmful but they block you from certain tiles and then you have to wait for them to move before you can get somewhere, in which time some bonuses/pickups may have disappeared.
Thank you both a lot for your kind replies and sorry about me replying so late. Main menu is now almost completed and my current task is Android support. I’ve read your ideas and I think they’re pretty good. Well, actually computer controlled enemies were something that I too have thought but still thanks for the answer. I like the bridge and powerup idea and may implement them into the game if I can.
Pretty fun, but a little to fast. I only played the normal mode. I think every time you get the yellow square the snake should speed up or something. But it is very fun none the least.
