What's are needed to fully setup monodevelop for unity actually?

Please help me with mondevelpo and Gtk# as you can.

I have downloaded monodevelop using UnityDownloadAssistant-2017.4.32f1. I have selected Editor attaching and choosed MonoDevelop from unity.

But it says that gtk# is not properly installed. You can see on up^. So I downloaded Gtk# for many times from internet, if don’t work I uninstalled it, then download freshly and installed it, if don’t work then again I do same. I have downloaded also many needs that was shown on building guide. But Gtk# always not get a place for monodevelop. Also the GAC thing is a damn thing that I can’t understand.
Please help me to install gtk# in that GAC. And all the softwares to make supportable gtk# for my desktop, tell me what’s are those softwares are as well as you know.

Unity no longer supports MonoDevelop.
Visual Studio is now the default, supported IDE, but if you don’t want to use it, you can also use whichever preferred text editor you’re comfortable with, such as Atom, Sublime, Notepad++, VSCode, etc.

There’s is also the Jetbrains Rider IDE which is very good, but not free.

Whatever, what do you think good for developing? I think I have haired that Atom developer software. Please give me the “http//:” of atom software.

Just use Visual Studio:

or Visual Studio Code:

It’s literally the first result on Google. If you can’t figure out how to do a basic search you won’t be able to get it working with Unity because it’s definitely not as simple as installing it and using it. If you want to use something other than Visual Studio you need to become knowledgeable on how to at least search or you won’t get anywhere.

GAC is short for Global Assembly Cache: Global Assembly Cache - .NET Framework | Microsoft Learn

Try this:

  • Uninstall Unity, MonoDevelop and GTK# completely

  • (Re-)Install .NET Framework 4.6.1 (in case it’s missing or damaged)

  • Run the UnityDownloadAssistant setup again and check all the things you wanted to install (including MonoDevelop)

Do not install GTK# from the MonoDevelop website. Unity ships with a customized version of MonoDevelop and GTK# is already included.

If that doesn’t help, refer to the other IDEs posted above.

Firstly, thanks for replying to you all.
I’ve downloaded visual studio. But after installing, you can see bellow after when I opened it.

This is a goddamn error. I don’t understand what god controlling this desktop with this damn errors or I haven’t worked out with visual studio correctly. Even there is no options or uni.exe to getting it unistall or reinstall it again.

What, why are you even going through the stanadalone visual studio installer? Unity comes with everything you need ,it will install an IDE for you. Just download unity via the hub

Well, I think you are right. My computer is running with itself, running as I am commanding it. No goddamn controls. I’m downloading unity hub now, uninstalling the older version. I’ll see and reply the results. Thanks!
Well, what can unity hub do for visual studio? Question mainly for GameDovCouple.

Please now help me replying on here . I think hub is not needed. Whatever I liked GameDevCouple.

Without Unity Hub you won’t be able to access any functionality that requires you to enter a username and password like the Unity Asset Store or any of their services. You won’t be able to activate the editor if you have a Unity Plus or Unity Pro license either.

Unity Hub is required for Unity 2019.1 and up. You don’t need Unity Hub for 2018.x and earlier.

I am just using unity free. But I downloaded unity hub 2.1.2:sunglasses:
