Whats best for performance?

Whats best for performance if i have a terrain 5000x5000 and 50% off the terrain is a island in the middle and water is all around.
But too make it fit i have used like 7-8 water prefabs and scaled them so they fit around the island and a few 100m outside the terrain so you cant see the water edge when on the island.

Would it be better too have 1 large water prefab covering all, the only problem is then i have too raise the terrain at certain Places on the island where it is at the lowest in a valley there.

From a performance standpoint having less objects tends to be better since it uses less draw calls, but in this case I don’t think I would make a whole lot of difference. Do what works better for your map
