I want to exclude iOS 4.2 Devices for my App (first and second Generation of iPhone/Pod). But i"m still confused weather it is OK or not to work with Xcode 4.1. (4.3SDK) There are so many posts about this issue. But the more i read the more i get confused?
What is the current state (September, 2011, Unity 3.4.1) about the Xcode 4 and SDK4.3 issue?
Yes or really still No?
One more question: I clicked the install Button in for Xcode in the Appstore. My Activity Monitor tells that it is now downloading something to anywhere. I don’t know what’s going on and how to stop it. Where to remove the installer. Or whatever.
Help it’s all so confusing.
Thanks in advance
Johann,
yes, Unity 3.4 and xCode4 are compatible. I pushed already an App built with this configuration with no issue.
If you want to install xCode 4.1 from the App Store and/or re-install it, just search “install Xcode” with the finder and it will point you to the install program for xCode. You can then launch it again or stop it.
Hm, this time install via Mac App Store worked. But I just get an all the time crashing Xcode. Very Strange.
The installer made a new folder “Developer” but kept my old one and called it Developer 3.2.5 (wich was the SDK/Xcode that i used before).
I think i’ll delete the new folder.
??? Does anyone know which is currently (September 2011, Unity 3.4.1) the recommended Xcode / SDK - version? and where to get it?
don’t delete the developer folder. use the uninstall feature that comes with xCode. It will remove any reference to that environment. then reboot and reinstall xCode 4.1
