When is Unity 3 coming out?!?!?

Last official announcement was “Summer 2010”, this could mean anytime before September 21st.
September 21st is Civilization Day in Maryland.
Since when is September summer? The way I’ve been taught is that:
Spring: March, April, May
Summer: June, July, August
Autumn: September, October, November
Winter: December, January, February
??
Since always. If you look on a typical calendar, you’ll see “Autumn begins” on September 23 this year. That’s when the autumnal equinox is (sometimes it’s the 22nd). Months are arbitrary and only have a vague relation to seasons; it would be somewhat more accurate to say that July, August, and September are summer. June is mostly spring; summer doesn’t start until the 21st or so.

20 March - 21 June
summer (for the Northern Hemisphere):
June 20 or 21, depending on the year till
September 22 or 23, again depending on the year
fall (for the Northern Hemisphere):
8 August (crosses summer start) and ends on about 7 November
winter (for the Northern Hemisphere):
11 November till 20 march

The unity release last year was summer too and it was released in sept or oct around Unite
If you can’t wait, you can buy Pro and get access to the current beta within a day or two to use it.

Oh bru, relax… Nothing is worse that HAVING the link but not being ABLE to use it because your project is too far along to take a chance on installing beta software… If you want to be unhappy, just consider that fact… 
Then smile because you are in a better place 
it will be released, just be happy if it won’t be summer cause I doubt you want to wait for 2011

Be prepared for a lot of unhappiness then. Software release dates are wishful thinking; it’s done when it’s done, unless it’s forced into an early release for marketing reasons, which usually results in bad software.

I must admit that it would be nice if an official approximation could be given by someone at UT!
Something like:
“Looks like we should have Unity 3 available around the first half of October - if all goes to plan”
Surely UT must have a workable deadline?
