When moving window unity crash!!!!!!!

VEry frequently!

For example, after some hours hard working of set scene’s assigning,

some console error generate!

So I want to see big that console window!

So I moving console window outside!

Unity just closing and crash!!!

My hours work just begone!!!

Becuase unity itself closed, there is no Temp folder remain!!!

So this is not my fault, but unity’s fault!

Isn’t it?

where do you move the console window? on a second screen?
did you ensure that 3d acceleration on your graphics card drivers is set to hardware accelerate all screens and that it really works?

What do you mean? Do you mean dual-monitor?

Yes I use dual-monitor but this is not related with that.

Console window is just example.

When unity crashing because of this, it doesn’t matter what window. Console, Game, Scene, animation, anithing can be. If I moving any window to outside or inside unity window, it just crash and unity itself close.

This occur not always, but occurs certainly.

are you potentially running at the memory border?

I know that it can cause a hickup or a rather slowish response time for some seconds when you undock a window especially if you did not first show it (I’ve stopped having the console integrated in the layout. mine is hidden and when I want to look at errors I open it with ctrl - shift - c which drops it automatically on the second screen. the log when visible while stuff is written can cause significant slowdowns as any logging that you view the output updated in realtime, even bare simple windows command console)

I using 8 giga memory.

I normally open 2 unity project at the same time. even 3.

I JUST INSTALLED UNITY 5.4.2.F2 …WHENEVER I TRY TO DOCK ANY WINDOW IT CRASHES…
MOVING OR DOCKING ANY WINDOW (CONSOLE, ANIMATION,SCENE, ETC)
THIS IS RIDICULOUS

This is a 5 year old thread. Its unlikely that you have the same problem. What does the log file say when Unity crashes?

same issue on latest lts on a blank project. I get this in the console window when i try to move a window. Single screen lenovo yoga 9i laptop with 16GB and 8GB free Ubuntu 21.10. Unity just hangs and I have to force kill it

This is now a 10 year old thread. Its unlikely that you have the same problem, plus you are using Linux. Please file a bug report.
