When player goes under a roof too close to the terrain

The camera drops to the terrain when this happens. In order for me to walk under it seems it must be 10 feet above the players head otherwise the camera will drop to the floor

What was the question? If you look at any released AAA game, they suffer from the same issue. Some may dim the object so you can see the player, or perhaps mask some shape (circle, oblong) like you can see through the object.

But really, what is the question?

How to get the camera to stay located to my chars head instead of dropping to his feet when going under a floating object?
