I’ve been reading about how Unity is changing its Core, and apparently everything I learned in the past few months is now almost useless, or maybe I’m just freaking out, so I have a few questions:
-
Will this ECS replace the current way of coding in Unity, or can I still use everything I’ve learned for a few years more? How much longer will I be able to use the traditional system?
-
I just started a game using the traditional system, does this mean I’ll have to port everything to this new system if I plan to release let’s say…in 1 year from now?
-
If the old system is getting thrown out, does this mean the amazing wealth of Unity tutorials on YouTube are officially useless?
It would be nice optionally leaving the old system, it’s so great for prototyping.
