Google’s Android OS has APIs for OpenGL and supports 3D graphics. So the obvious question is; when will I be able to build Unity apps for Android?
Hm… the doc overview page says “Applications are written using the Java programming language”… hm… it also says “3D hardware acceleration optional”…
3D is optional because it (the OS) will be available on a wide range of devices… some will have nice big screens with 3D enabled hardware… other devices will be less powerful with no 3D hardware support.
I suppose Novell’s team will have to port Mono to Android before I can even begin dreaming about having Unity run on a gPhone.
