I have no idea how to find the shaders! I don’t need anything fancy yet, I just need to get objects rendered! All I see available to me are “FX Water - NonReflect” and “ShadowProjection”. Skybox is the default, but I can’t get back to it if I click off of it. I’ve had a similar problem with particles. There are supposedly several built-in shaders with Unity Indie, but I can’t for the life of me find them in my assets. Any ideas?
(I have tried importing the standard package again, to no avail.)
In the project window go to Create >> Material. Then click on the newly created material in the project window. Then it wil appear in the inspector. There will be a shader drop down box that will contain all of the built in shaders. Once you’ve selected your shader, apply it to an object. The reason you could see the other 2 in the project view is because they were brought in seperatley.
I tried this before! I only get two options! There is a third option, “Normal-Diffuse”, that is the default, but it is inaccessible if I choose anything else.
That is, unless I import the folder you linked me to!
AMAZING! I like that mode because of all the extra variables I can watch update in real-time. I had no idea it would limit my choices like that! Thanks so much! Now, what about the particle issue? I love the look of this default setting, but if I select something else, perhaps accidentally, there is seemingly no going back.
The “default” particle material uses Particles/Alpha Blended Premultiply shader with a texture like this (the texture has also “Generate alpha from grayscale” in import settings).
