the new input system is working like a charm so far, but now I need to get my hands dirty on the handles and control schemes for my local multiplayer game.
I guess the MultiplayerManager.cs script that you are talking about could help. But there is no guess on the web. Can someone help me?
This isn’t really an answer to your question, but keep in mind that the “new input system” prototype that was released a while ago isn’t in development anymore. The input team has since then begun work on an even newer system that corrects some of the shortcomings of the prototype.
Thanks @PhilSA , I’m aware of that. I want to develop a local multiplayer game within the next months and since Mac builds made with the current Unity version seem to have a broken input manager and do not recognize gamepads at all, I wanted it to set up with the new input system and be ready for the upcoming stable version. But maybe I can switch to older Unity versions which might not have this problem.
