i just downloaded the new version of Unity 3.3 and i’d like to see what the new Indie water looks like…
i’ve read elsewhere that the new water3 is in the assets folder, but i can’t seem to find it…
can someone direct me to the new water3 asset…
thx

Water3 is supplied with Unity’s standard assets but it is available with Unity Pro only.
Huh? I’ve got Pro so I can’t double check, but I think andeeee is mistaken. The water3 asset is (or is supposed to be) compatible with (indy) Unity, it just doesn’t support Pro only features (like refraction).
Personally, I think the community ocean shader is better for things like sub simulators, and the transition from above to below the water (for underwater effects) is much better than in water3.
Sorry if I’m making a mistake here - it’s just that Water3 comes in a folder called “Water (Pro Only)” in my test project. Maybe it’s just the name that is incorrect.
it’s compatible with free unity, you just have to import the pro standard assets into that and it’s there. I’m using it in pretty much every level of my current game xD.
thx guys… i’ve found it and got it working (needed to import pro assets)…
now to figure out how to get it to look like the water in the demo…
