where to find music for games?

I dont know if anyone have asked this before beacouse I am horrible at finding the correct search words, I have tried searching for it, but I couldnt find anything. Please inform me if theres another thread with the same topic:smile:

I have always thought that music makes 50% of the gameplay experince and I have a big problem:

I am almost finished with my first game that I have been working on for a while (its not very good, but I am just trying to learn as I go) and the only thing left to finish the game is music. I dont have any experince with composing music or any programs to make music in(I am going to buy one soon, but I will probably use some time to learn how to use it). Does anyone know a website I can find free music that I can use in my games?:smile: (I have no problem crediting the composer)

Search for Royalty Free Music. Though you’re best just getting someone to do something that fits your game than using stock stuff.

And please, PLEASE for the love of all sanity in the world. Do not use “requiem for a dream”, or I shall kill you slowly with a spoon.

Good and free music is not common, especially when you want it to fit your game.

Actually I used to like it, and almost used it once myself. But thankfully my talent for procrastination prevented me, and others were severely beaten for doing so instead.

You can make your search narrowed down to ones that are free for commercial purposes, just make sure you follow the license of the music you are using. Usually this entails giving them credit in your readme or credits screen.

On topic, if you are willing to pay a small sum, I am sure the guy who does the music for our games would be more than willing to do something for you. He is very talented.
