where to get character controllers on unity 5

hie guys.I just downloaded unity 5 today and am watching a tutorial but I am stuck.how do I import character controllers on unity 5???

Welcome to Unity! And thanks for posting in the correct forum.

I don’t use the character controller, but I would guess it’s probably somewhere under Assets > Import Package.

What tutorial are you following?

but there are no packages other than the custom and it has nothing in it

im using a youtube tutorial

It’s under assets-> Import Packages->Characters.

For you not to have those must mean you didn’t download them. Run the Download Assistant again, and choose “Standard assets” and “Example Project” in addition to the Unity 5.1

…and when you’re asking for help, please take the few extra seconds to be complete. Like copying & pasting the URL of the tutorial you’re talking about, especially if somebody asks you which one it is. There are hundreds (thousands?) of Unity tutorials on YouTube; “a youtube tutorial” doesn’t tell us much.
