Where's my Blend Tree > Blend Type option?

“The Blend Type drop-down is used to select one of the different blend types that can blend according to one or two parameters.”

All I have is the parameter option? I can add animations to get 1D Blending but there’s no drop down to chose 2D.

As far as I’m aware its in the free version so where am I going wrong?

You need Unity 4.1 !
