Where's my signature? big chunk of my sales came from there

hope this is work in progress and not a “you don’t need a signature” thing, you’re not apple to afford a “you don’t need a jack” thing

like I say in the title, a big chunk of our sales come from our signatures, it’s directly under all of our posts, people don’t have to click our profiile to see it (even if they do, it’s not even there now).

not having this functionality disincentivizes some people who otherwise posted and helped people frequently. if unity f up its community, then it goes to nothing. the #1 reason to use unity is these helpful forums. if contributions per total drop 20%, that’s a lot. and they will drop, because frequent posters will see they replied to 100 topics in the current week, but sales have mostly stayed the same, while previously they’d get ~5-7 or so. this is just an example.

but maybe I’m not seeing the bigger picture, please someone enlighten me.

You should be able to put all those links in your bio. Then if anyone clicks your profile picture, the popup box shows the bio and all your links.

In the profile settings there’s also a box for a link to your personal website! So that would be a good spot for a portfolio link or something like that

I second wanting signatures back. I don’t even sell anything but I had a link to my YouTube channel there and got views from it. Nobody is going to click into my profile, even if I helped them with a problem. Also, there’s an official plugin to support this functionality which includes a way to disable them for any user that wants a cleaner interface: GitHub - discourse/discourse-signatures: A Discourse Plugin to show user signatures below posts

thanks, but let’s not talk about this as it’d sound like the problem is partially solved, while it’s 0% solved (I’ve explained why)

I got confirmation in another thread that they’re working on brining back signatures! Quick Update - #7 by Brach_Unity

Another big loss comes from users unable to see 99% of google links to the old forums currently

Something that after all this time has not been fixed yet, which lead me to believe that may just be technically impossible
