Which icon used for store listing

Something changed with the new universal dashboard (Microsoft’s). My store listing, when I check it on my Windows 8.1 PC, is using a stretched version of the square tile, instead of the wide tile. I know the wide tile is setup correctly in Visual Studio when I build, because all 3 tile sizes work correctly after I installed and pin to the start menu.

I’m guessing they are using one of the icons in the store dashboard description now instead? I’d think it would be using one of the wide ones, most obviously the one under “Promotional Artwork” called “Wide Tile (358x173)”, but I have uploaded every size and it’s still using a stretched version of the square icon… looks really bad :frowning:

The last 2 apps I published actually had no icon at all for the first 24 to 48 hours, but that issue ended up resolving by itself. So maybe this is just more weirdness. Just wondering if I’m alone, or if others are also having issues like this, and maybe more now since they made major changes to the dev center?

Here is a link to the store listing: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/games/at-the-end-zombie-sniper-3d/9nblggh1ntwz – but it looks fine there, it’s the “browse” or “search” results/list that looks bad.

We had the same thing happening and contacted Microsoft. We got this response 2 days ago:

I understand you’re seeing your app logo stretched and skewed in search results. I can confirm I see the same results. This is an issue our engineers are currently working on. I don’t have an estimate of when we’ll have a resolution, but I will stay in touch with you through this service request and update you as I receive more information.

Nothing since - issue still ongoing. Further research seems to indicate that MS will just log this and not do a thing. Also, there is really nothing else that can be done. Obviously kills your sales. But - it seems this issue has been fixed on Windows 10.

Please do bug them via Dashboard. A real shame they don’t care:

Horrible news, but thanks for the valuable info and I am going to bug them right now, as you suggest.

I just got a standard reply so far, but will post it here if I get more info:

15 days later and all they have managed to do is add padding so that the square icon is still displayed, but at least not stretched now. I sent another email and only got this, but at least it’s a reply I guess:

Any news on this?
