Which project template for VR using HDRP?

I want to work on a VR project using the High Definition Render Pipeline. So my question is, which of the 2 project templates makes the most sense to start with, VR or HDRP?

Obviously, both will require additional setup to get to a starting baseline project, but I’m guessing one is going to be easier than the other in terms of the amount of work/complexity required.

Thanks.

The HDRP project template has a wizard that helps you set up VR. I just went through the recommended steps in a couple of minutes and it worked.

You might want to create a VR template project too, and copy the camera rig that’s in the example scene, because it comes with properly set up left and right hand tracked pose drivers.

Thanks for the reply. I just discovered that if you install the HDRP package in a VR Template project, you get the same HDRP configuration wizard which you indicated so I’m hoping that’s the approach that will work best. Thanks again!

The other advantage of the HDRP template project is getting an example scene with properly set up lights and materials. That’s why I’d add VR to HDRP instead of HDRP to VR.

Ah, I see. My understanding is that there are some performance concerns using HDRP with VR and as such, some of the HDRP settings need to be adjusted accordingly. Do you know if the sample lights/materials take this into account or is it a non-issue?
