I prefer not using a tool/asset . Rather to program your own the way you want it suitable for your game.
When I made my AI I programmed it all front scratch and incorporated and edited the Simple Path, A* Pathfinding system which is available on the asset store. That way it is exactly what I want and works as it should. Sure it is not an easy solution as it takes time, but you get results and the results that you want.
The “best ever AI” is impossible out of a tool. It is better to make yourself to what you want, and that is suitable for your game. That way it is the “best ever”, for your game.
