which VCS diff tools do you prefer sourcegear diffmerge, TkDiff, P4Merge,tortoiseMerge, winmerge, plasticscm merge or beyond compare 4 ?
Which is better for develop in unity?
Unity works pretty well with any VCS tool. The key points are as follows:
- Switch serialization to forced text. This gives you sensible diffs
- Make sure you ignore the library folder and temp folder. There are some good online ignore lists for Unity projects around the place
- Make sure you include hidden files, especially .meta files.
- Have a workflow for large binary files, such as art and sound. These can easily bloat out a regular VCS

I have VS Code, Visual Studios community and installed all the modules for Android, and Windows, but no matter what “Fix” I use, what extra “download recommendations” are suggested, etc. VCS Tools are NOT working and not installing and hitting regenerate, creating a new project, etc. is doing anything to resolve this problem. These were available in 2018.4.
