i’m working on a project that involves fairly large buildings, modeled inside and out. this is like my 3rd time going back to scratch. the first time i ended up having over a thousand objects and found my fps became unplayable or unworkable. i read somewhere it’s better to have 1 object of a million polys rather than a million objects of 1 poly. i guess i interpreted this as saying it’s better to model out huge sections of a building ( if the whole area uses the same material ).
i guess what i’m actually asking is if i had a wall and it was made up of 10 instances sections for batching sake, is this better than having one large object with a texture that is tiled ?.
