Which website builder is the best or most common to post your game development portfolio? I am looking for the unlimited free website builder.
My game development friends said it is weebly, but I am not so sure weebly is the best, because wix is more popular than weebly. I do not know why my friend said weebly will be better than wix to post your game development portfolio.
I use Wordpress but I hate it! All my links got broken and no easy way to embed HTML into a post (I’m using a plugin but it’s less than ideal)
I’m re writing mine using Material Design Light and it’s much better, but it is just HTML stuff but it’s easy anyway I just chopped up the examples and made what I wanted.
Agreed, but there’s also something to be said for saving time by using off-the-shelf and focusing your effort on other things.
I used WordPress a lot at previous jobs, and my website is a custom WP theme I created. But it’s also much easier to just download/install a pre-built theme with customization options, upload a few images, type a few pages out and launch. Or, use the WordPress hosted sites.
I guess it depends on what level of “professionalism” you want. If you simply want a way to be able to share your portfolio, go with the easiest and cheapest solution!
Just try another plugin. There’s a lot out there that usually have a missing feature, but through patience, perseverance, meditation and enlightenment you too can find the right plugin for your needs.
Very true. For my personal needs at the time I built my website rolling my own solution was ideal. Its worth noting that those personal needs included “Learn the basics of HTML and CSS”.
The result is pretty amateurish looking. And adding new content is a bit of a pain. But it currently does the job.
Upon investigation, it looks to me like they limit what file types may be uploaded using the media library. You could probably get around this by uploading the files elsewhere, but with scripts on another domain I’m guessing you’d have to run the app inside an iframe or something. Not the prettiest of solutions, but free is free.
