who's using the sidebar?

I tried for a week but never found it functional, if a scene is so large that it needs granularity I split it and unload, or set objects on a layer since work is function by function, prefabs are also my prefered way to focus in.
Waste of space in my opinion. But I keep an open mind so tell me how if ever you use that thing.

I’ve used it for two things so far:

If I’m working on a scene with a terrain in it I’ll often disable selection for the terrain from the sidebar. Otherwise I’m constantly selecting the terrain by accident.

Occasionally I’ll make the UI invisible from the sidebar because it’s massive compared to the scene and sometimes gets in the way.

I use the lock tool pretty regularly.
It’s handy to lock objects to prevent accidentally clicking/changing things you don’t mean to.

I use the hide tool a bit less, but it’s still come in useful for those few times.
For my specific case, I have 2D SpriteRenderers overlayed on-top of each other, and if I need to edit a sprite behind another sprite, it’s nice to just be able to hide the others that are in front of it, where I’d previously need to move it’s position, make the change, then move it back.

That’s what I thought at first but then I go back and forth with UI and objects a lot and the hierarchies are so deep that it requires tons of scrolling so I ended up using layers only.

I think it lacks two things: lock all and visual feedback when you click somewhere that has only locked items (blinking comes to mind)
Layers also lacks padlock everything and nothing, I wonder why.
