Why can i not even see the camera or anything in unity

i legit do not understand, ive watched multiple tutorials and have achieved nothing at all. I still dont even really get the difference between scene view and game view, but my main problem is the camera. When i click on the camera in my hierarchy, nothing at all appears besides a small circle in the center of the screen. How do i get the camera boundaries to show and how do I set it so that its certain dimensions (like a 9:16 portrait) so i know how big i can make my map for a game? Please help

You’re posting in the 2D forum so I’m assuming you’re looking to make a 2D game. Make sure you’re in 2D Mode by going to Edit > Project Settings > Default Behavior Mode > 2D.

When you create a new scene/camera is should be set to Orthographic Projection. When you click on the Main Camera in the Hierarchy, you should then see boundaries in the Scene View. You can choose dimensions in the Game View; I think it defaults to Free Aspect but if you click on it, you should see a dropdown menu where you can choose various dimensions.
