We started to promote our F2P mobile game in India and Pakistan (where we hope for the best ROAS) and noticed a promising rise of our DAU up to over 200. In these countries we have an app fill rate of approx. 80%, but only about 12 impressions, so we lose most of our ads somewhere between the app fill and the impression. “Imps / app fill” moves between 0% and 15% in India and Pakistan while almost constantly being at 100% in other countries.
In our understanding, an app fill means, the we get an ad back from the mediation layer and only have to show it yet, so we exclude the possibility that no bidder was found or that the ad is not compliant with the local laws (e.g. child protection).
So why could that be? We preload the ads, is the only explanation that the players switch off the game between the app fill and the impression? Where do the differences between the countries come from then, just the players’ taste?
