Why does unity say my animation controller is not valid when I convert to prefab?

For some reason, when I convert an object with an animation to a prefab, it says that it is not valid. The animation is a sprite animation, and every time I create a sprite animation, it makes a new animation and animator. I don’t know if this is normal, but if it isn’t, would that be why things are going wierd?
