Why importing assets for iOS is taking sooooo long ?

Hi,

On iMac (20gb ram) I have a scene (a simple walkthrough) with 200 lightmaps.
It takes about 5 hours (true story) when I hit cmd+b to convert the *.exr.

Another interesting fact : when I pack my project and exporting it to a new Windows projects it imports in a minute. When I import in a new Mac project → 5 hours too…

WTF with the OSX version ?

Experiencing the same problem on Macbook pro. Unity 2.1 pro.

I’m getting the same behavior. Mind you it’s a macmini with 4gb ram, but it’s taking over an hour to do a build that was taking 30 seconds on PC for the same project.

Did you ever get around the issue or find an answer?

Painfully slow importing assets on macmini with 8gb ram. PC is 100x faster
