@sid4, @HavoKGR,
The people answering the questions are 99.99999% just normal people choosing to help others. There are issues when the same problems get posted and it appears no one does any research or learns the system and just wants some script so they can move on. A lot of people posting don’t even attempt to do their own work and that can discourage others from helping them as they feel abused in a sense. There are people on here of all ages and walks of life, some program professionally, others as a hobby. Questions like this that seem to SCREAM of entitlement turn even more people off from helping. Again people, not paid people, but just people are choosing to use their time to help others, they get free internet points which don’t do much but provide pride in a sense.
The quality of the questions also cames into play, when someone asks a question with a subject of “WHOLE BALLS HELP!!! IF MY QUESTION ISN’T ANSWERED THEY ARE GOING TO KILL MY CAT!!!” it’s a turn off(yes that was satirical, but the point should be understandable) , when the body of the question contains mostly limited information that requires someone to implement it themselves to try and help, you narrow down who will help. Questions should be well formatted and there is a FAQ and User guide to help construct attractive questions. Broken and incomplete and poorly formatted code or code in a screen shot attracts less people to questions and thus answers.
Questions like “Easy . Only instantiate if other is off screen or dead” @sid4 then the first sentence is:
I have this script that does work but
it keeps cloning clones of clones,
What I want is only if the original
has left the screen or has been killed
to then instantiate it gets to crowded
with all of them on screen. So only
instantiate if origanl has left screen
or been killed
Great, you want to do something that has been asked hundreds if not thousands of times between this site and others. Not saying the question is wrong, however this is an extremely common question.
Another, “animation wont play Please help”, thanks for posting a script that is almost entirely commented out, you ask the code to be checked, you tried a lot of different methods invocations, it’s all over the place and their are literally thousands of posts on how to play animation, how to create animations within unity, etc.
Not trying to be hard on you, but look at this pragmatically, you asked the question, there are some of the answers.
If making games was a walk in the park, everyone would be doing it successfully, i stress the word successfully. That doesn’t mean don’t do it, it means you need to actually LEARN the system, learn to code/script and enjoy the learning and exploration of a platform that is ever expanding.
Use the search system and google with a unity3d term as well, but do learn to crawl before walking and complaining about it.
