Just been bugging me as to why its pro only

I’d love to see that theme in the forums. It would be way easier to read than this whitewash.
If they are going to change the forum colors, then I hope they add an option for people. That way I can see what it is you guys are writing

Okay,
a) I never thought the watermark was a good idea and it looked just lousy.
b) Whilst the splash screen still isn’t this clever as it partly targets the wrong audience, it’s a lot better than the watermark before.
c) I find the Pro only colours a good idea, probably Nicholas came up with this, because it annoys you but it doesn’t targets your audience and doesn’t restrict you technically. It just makes you barf, what’s wrong with that? Definately the best distinction there ever was and yes the Pro colours are very nice now. I even would buy Pro for those! ;O)

In my opinion, there are too few Pro features as it is. Unity needs to make their money
Personally I don’t really like the dark theme, so many people in so many areas of society are moving to making everything darker these days. I prefer the light. That said I do think it’s important for the pro version to look like it has more polish or snazzier appeal than regular. You see it all over the place - buy a higher priced musical keyboard and you get the shiny metallic faceplate rather than the dull plastic one, or get a higher priced car and get the swankier stylings, etc.
was there some change regarding the watermark / splashscreen?
can anyone post a screenshot of the new watermark / splashscreen? i didn’t have time to try unity3 yet…

No idea, i just stated my opinion that Dark Skin, contrary to some other features used in order to differ Pro from Indie, is a reasonable one.
