Why isn't the asset store smarter?

A lot of assets on the asset store only work out of the box with older versions of Unity yet there is no version checking or validation in the import process or asset store UI/UX?

The asset store could even hide none unity version compatible assets or assets could point you to the version of Unity you need in the Unity Hub you need to run the assets.

You don’t need to read the reviews. The tested versions are listed in the asset description.

Where?

There’s a dropdown tab called “Supported Unity versions”

Joke Damn, a sensible thread. Isn’t this one of the signs of the Apocalypse?

The reason is because Unity sucks at things that aren’t making game engines. And they really, really, really suck at any sort of web design.

There is a lot that could be improved in how the assets store works.

Forget smarter. I’d be happy with it being more responsive. I feel like I’m browsing on a 56K modem when I visit it.

Yes it tends to be pretty slow sometimes.
