why isn't unity running faster on my faster machine?

I have unity on two machines
I’m running the same file on each.

  1. A 2008 laptop mac osx 2 ghz duo core unity version 3.3.04f frame rate about 100
  2. A monster mac desktop that is 3ghz 8 core. 3.4.2f3 frame rate about 100

Why are the machines running at about the same speed. Shouldn’t the frame rate be much faster
on the better machine.

The simulation is sort of a gravitation simulation it uses fixed update not update.


Try changing Application.targetFrameRate or QualitySettings.vSyncCount. Maybe you’re vsync capped?
