This is more of a general question, so didn’t know where to post it, therefore I’ll try here.
I noticed some games such as Hollow Knight don’t show the typical

that shows up when building a player, so I was wondering why is that.
Thank you.

Oh, it seems to be the “Splash screen customization”
I wonder why some indie games get it removed. Maybe they bought a plan just after they succeeded (so that they could afford it) and then removed it or customized it.
If you make over 100K you’re required to get at least a pro-license. Any indie dev that’s supporting even at little as 2-3 people is (hopefully) going to be making that much, getting pro-licenses, and removing the splash screen.
Seems reasonable
For how long are they require to stay with the pro-license? Will it be for each fiscal year that surpasses 100k USD? In a hypothetical scenario:
(1) if the first and the third year they’re making +100k they are forced to get the yearly pro-license, but they can choose to take it or not on their second year. Right?
(2) For instance, if in the first year they got their pro-license and get the splash screen removed, but in the second year they are not buying the license because the revenues were under a 100k, will that splash screen be back on any update for the game that the devs do on that second year?
I meant so say Plus License, not pro, I should say.
Nonetheless, don’t know the specifics. Check Unity’s license terms. IANAL.
I would wager an indie dev would stay on the same license year on year if they could afford it. If they were making less than 100K, they’d probably do something to bump up their revenue anyway.
