Why the unity 4 doesn't support the WebGL platform build?

As everybody knows, the recent chrome and other browser don’t support the unity webplayer.

You have to change the something in the browser to make the support the unity web player…
And that will works the big barrier for the users to play…

And the worse thing, Chrome noticed that they will stop the enabling NPAI options itself in the future browser.
If then, the Unity Webplayer platform build will be of no use…
So, I think, Unity Editor should provide some alternatives to the disappear of the WebPlayer…

Unity5 support the WebGL build, but the Unity 4 doesn’t.

Why?..

Do they Unity team have any future plan to support the WebGL build in the Unity4 ???

No, we will not have WebGL support in Unity 4. Unity 4 and Unity 5 are very different at this point, and it would take many months of work to backport WebGL to Unity 4 - time which can better be used on making it better instead.

Thank, Jonas,
As what you said, for the time being, unity will not have WebGL support in Unity4.
But are there any possibilties of supporting WebGL in U4 after many many months later??

Frankly, I have U4 full license, but not yet upgraded U5 License.
And I’d like to build on the platform of Web…

If the unity team will support webGL in U4 in the some days, I willing to wait you utill then…

Should I discard my precious U4 license into the trash can and pour my another money for upgrading U5 license?
Or should I wait for the some day in the future when the team support webGL in U4, using only mobile platform builds ???
(Because, Unity team will eventually support webGL in U4, even though it will take some unpredicting months or so)

It’s not going to happen.

Yes. Take advantage of the upgrade instead. This is because Unity 5 is better than Unity 4 in every way. It is cheaper to upgrade, you do not need to purchase a brand new license.

Perhaps you can also consider Unity 5 Personal, it has all the features of pro.

@kaykay We will not support Unity WebGL in Unity 4; if you want to use WebGL export you will need to move to Unity 5.
