Hi!
You know what… I knew that from the very begining, but now I’m just frustrated and I will tell you why…
I’m just releasing my games on WP8 only to advertiese my game in social way. I mean one guy will see the game on WP8 and will tell the other guy with iOS or Android to play in it (and only then I will get some revenue)…
I noticed that WP8 platform is very limited to ADS. I don’t want to sell my games, I love ADS, players love smart ADS. My games are made by amateur for casual players. I’m not saying that I can’t create word famous game (hehhehe, I’m about to relase one - I love the feeling when you belive in game, and the market shows you what is the truth
nevertheless I don’t give up
I’m addicted to creating games - I used to write addons for Counter-Strike like Amxmod, ClanMod or Statsme and still like to script something to get something playable, with tricky concept
and more I love to get those thousands of souls playing it
I love this!!!). One day I will get some budget to create some pro games, but for now I’m just amateur and need as a first phase to earn for pro-license, second to refresh my old contacts which have all attributes for success
Backing to the discusion. The reason for M$ failure is that they want to have everything now, from the very begining. They want to have control over the AD market to get big money later. But the true is that the success don’t lay in firm strategy but in community, which are we the developers. We are thoese small hands which write software which customize systems. Without this the systems would be useless. And how far the campaing from M$ about giving license to developer subscribtion for free or unifing the platform won’t bring any results.
The M$ must share theirs AD market. There must be place for Admob, iAd, Chartboost, Revmob and others. Easpecialy for such grate platform like Unity. There must be also place for crazy hype like Achivements and Leaderboards. Without that, phones with WP8 are just bricks which can run some software, but they can’t create the way of life. The life for gamers and developers.
I cant… I don’t know… what… I’m not sure…

Microsoft doesn’t limit the advertising sources on Windows Phone. I’ve used AdMob before but I’m sure there are others.
I do agree there needs to be an equivalent to Game Center/Google Play Games.
I wonder if it would be possible to build a third party tool/site that would hook into Windows Store and create an equivalent. Note to self: dig into the api…
It’s certainly possible to create your own, though I’m not sure what you mean by hook into the Windows Store. OpenFeint was incredibly popular before Game Center/Google Play Games came into the picture.
Just a note: Stop with the “M$” thing - I don’t know about others but as soon as I see that in a sentence, you put yourself on that anti-M$ bandwagon and your original post/comment/statement loses credibility.
As for your post, I’ve never adding anything to the WP marketplace, but I’ve seen that the Google Ads SDK supports Windows Phone, so I’m not sure I fully understand what you mean? I don’t see any indication that Microsoft are trying to block third-party ad networks

I’m not really too sure what you’re exactly asking/telling us here but what I gather you don’t believe to be any suitable ad services for Windows Phone?
There seems to be plenty of resources for ads on Windows Phone including Admob here, here and here.
It’s not Microsofts fault that the other ads companies do not support them yet, yes late to the party but growing.
Others include Pubcenter, Smaato, Inneractive and AdDuplex
You make out that every other company is non-profit.

M$ i$ $oooo 1999.
As I’ve seen and experienced, Microsoft is quite helpful to get anything supported in their WP. This just sounds like baseless anti-Microsoft ranting. Sure, they haven’t had some of the best leadership in all areas in recent years, but I think that Satya Nadella is going to help change that. Ballmer had to lead a changeover and prep the company to transition. It didn’t go entirely cleanly. Transitions rarely do, but I think he definitely prepped some of the company to be ready for the next-gen stage of the company. Old crew is largely out, new crew is in. Satya Nadella now has the power and ability to regroup and push forward to become “Microsoft-Next” or whatever you want to call it.
Apple has to do the same. They aren’t the same under Tim Cook and if they don’t start wowing people soon, it wouldn’t surprise me if they get new leadership and fresh blood in the next 5 years. They are the new-old-Microsoft. The same goes for Google.
Heheh, primo too much discussion about using M$. Actually I think that Microsoft has the best API and langugage for programing out there. It could be even more be tweaked but after looking in progression of Ads and Leaderboards, I guess nobody cares the progress at MS. As the Steve Jobs would say - “they are too lazy…”
Secundo thank you for pointing the possibilites. Isn’t it funny to get such support this way? Yeah, it is funnym because the official channel lacks of such informations… That I’m talking about…
Thanks again! Hope the workaround with handling exception will help in my version of admob for WP8.
