Agreed. Yes, you can have the mature content. Free speech being what it is, that right is not being deprived. However, effort is being made to limit it so that it inteferes with other people’s at a minimum, which is a really nice thing to see.
To expand on the earlier thought: ‘whatever floats your boat, as long as it dosen’t sink mine.’ Some people are a bit more sensitive to the aforementioned mature content than others, and they deserve protection as much as those who love mature content.
I’m pretty sure the reason it’s age restricted is because Nintendo EU headquarters are in Germany, and they have to abide by german law regarding such content or something.

still not sure if this is good or bad. At least you can play games any time of the day :P. but will it stop kids from downloading at night anyways? Unlikely. Looks like were now dealing with the effectiveness of a foreign law.
double edit: looks like MS and Sony have done this no problem. Nintendo, you gotta step it up!
I don’t think it’s nearly as silly as you guys seem to. Consider who the main market for the Wii actually is (hint: it is not enthusiast gamers) and you’ll see that this most likely won’t inconvenience them in the slightest, while it probably will make their experience more pleasant. For example, my girlfriend logging in to buy Wii Fit 2 or whatever won’t get slapped in the face with a gore encrusted zombie.
As for the people upset about not being able to buy Bloodrayne-style games at midday, remember that there are plenty of other avenues to buy your games which this won’t effect. Though I guess that is easy for me to say since I don’t consider downloading large games to be particularly convenient in the first place.
