Wii U - Thoroughly unimpressed.

So, I just watched all the videos for the Wii U games on Nintendo’s website - here. After watching them, with the exception of the new Super Mario Bros. and Rayman Legends, I am thoroughly unimpressed.

As I understand it, the Wii U is capable of full 1080p resolution, yet not even a handful of these game take advantage of this. With an average cost of $49.99 - $59.99, there is no excuse for this, in my opinion. Especially not when there are literally thousands of iOS games out there for under $5 that look numerous times better.

Has anyone had any experience playing these games? I like the idea of being able to play it on the controller or the TV, but I just can’t see this as a justification for the price range vs. quality output.

Opinions?

I played a few weeks ago or so at the san Francisco meetup (Mario U, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Pikmin 3), all looked amazing and all of them looked HD on both the screen and the TV.
Of course, there have been problems with ports ether with framerate and/or texture quality but I’m sure that will get fixed.
