I have to say im a bit disappointed with snapping in unity. My entire environment is modular, but i find that for one snapping by vertex usually doesnt connecting things all the way… u will see pixel gaps… or even worse if you snap multiple objects by vertex… one of the objects will no longer be in the same position… like it gets shifted slightly… so if ur duplicating objects that are snapped previously… and then snapping that group to something else… it will not move the objects together always… (espeacially true if your camera is far away for wahtever reason).
Another issue is snapping rotate… if i try to rotate it say 90 degrees… it will rotate it to 89.99 … which again leaves slight gaps… what gives guys? Do i have to do this crap in my 3d package to get proper results? Must i merge these verts?
just realized if i have an fbx that i exported thats 2 models for a wall… snapped in maya… sometimes snapping unity will make those 2 models seperate slightly… this is some bullshit lol. Its like its actually adding more work for me to snap objects… because i have to snap every single individual model seperately… adn then even if they are snapped together theres still a slight gap sometimes… like a pixel
