Win 7 x64 Editor Problems

Hi all!

I’ve ran into some problems with Unity on my Win7 x64 OS. In scene view, newly created objects aren’t visible, gridlines are buggy, I can’t see the wireframe of the camera’s field of view, etc, etc…
I can however load other files, for example the Bootcamp project. The scene displays correctly, but I still can’t see any newly created objects etc…

The same install works fine on my Win7 x32 bit install on the same system… (i7 950, Radeon HD 5870)

So far I’ve scanned the forum for anything on win7 64bit problems… I’ve reinstalled everything. disabled Aero, changed the Data Execution Prevention settings, but nothing works…

Any help would be Much apreciated…

Thanks in Advance,
Thomas

Graphics drivers update?

Nope, they are up to date… Hotfixes seem to be installed as wel… Anybody any idea??? There must be something to this, or other people with win 7 x64, right? And is there some kind of installation documentation on Unity anywhere? I Couldn’t find nothing…

Please anyone?

When something similar happened to us, the reason was that the “Layers” Menubutton in the top right corner of the Editor has got somehow Default layer disabled (ie. not checked). It took some time to discover this as we haven’t touched that button (and even noticed it was there…).

Thanks!!! That was it…! I didn’t touch it either… Or well, not Knowingly!

So there wasn’t any problem with the Windows OS, the 32 bit was a clean install, and therefore didn’t have those unity settings in which the default layer had been unitcked…

Thanks man!
