wind and tree generator trees on terrain

I can’t get wind to affect trees created by the tree generator on Unity 3 when laid out using the terrain editor. Is there a trick to getting whis to work?

I can’t get wind to affect trees either with unity3d.3.0.f1.

Can somebody please confirm this?

I added a wind zone and only individually created trees get affected from the wind. The ones laid out using the terrain editor do not get affected (yes they have a bend value).

Apparently, trees on the terrain aren’t effected by wind zones.

Archaic, I know. I wish UT at some point would overhaul the terrain engine.

Terrain wind settings don’t work either but it does for the prefab trees from terrain assets.

I wish we could at least convert the tree generator trees to something the terrain engine could fully support.

I’ve found this exact problem. You might want to make a bug report out of this.

Yipes!
this is indeed a problem, the Tree Creator is a fantastic tool, but w/o wind a real setback.

Is it possible to extract the mesh file you create in Tree Creator to an .fbx file so we could try reimporting it from Max to see if that may work?

Bit of a workaround but it will allow terrain tree painting.

No wind zones for trees on the terrain is a known issue and will be fixed in a future version.

Also,
By placing trees we essentially lose the painted tree terrain benefits, like Billboarding etc. - is this correct?

This means that the Tree Creator is practically useless…

Do we have an ETA for this?

Any word on this?

Trees made with the creator are affected by the wind, trees painted with the terrain script - do not animate.

Yep. Not ready for release, but released anyways apparently.

No news about this problem ?
